Happy Halloween!

Every year, Danny and I have a really huge halloween party.  We transform our apartment into a haunted house and everyone dresses up.  We decided not to have the party this year due to the Marathon and working many hours of ovetime.  But here is a little nostalgia from last year!

And a little from 2011.

Happy Halloween!

Danny's Plane Ride

A few weeks ago, Danny and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary of dating.  I wanted to get him something special and unique- so instead of a boring old tie (oh wait...he got 2 of those too)...I got him a plane ride in a Bi-Plane.  Last weekend we drove way north to the Chesapeake and Danny flew his plane!

With my anniversary present...new leather Coach bag!

Most planes were able to be moved by one guy just pulling or pushing it out of the hanger.  This authentic 1942 biplane was a little heavier and needed this cute little car to help it out.

Happy Anniversary, Baby!  I love you!

Race Fail

As I am gearing up for the marathon in a few weeks, I have been running quite a bit.  Last weekend, I finished my longest training run- 23 miles.  Luckily, I am an ambassador for Michelob Ultra and it has gotten me really excited for the race.  Last weekend, Danny and I attempted to run a 10K, but the dedication to the new MLK memorial (which was postponed due to the earthquake) block off all entry to the race route and we couldn't get through.  I wanted to pass out free coozies and towels, but the odds were against me!  It is probably for the best, as my legs were shot and I needed a break anyway.

Instead we took a walk up to visit Lincoln.

Looking forward to racing for Michelob Ultra at the NYC Marathon on Nov 6!  Wish me luck!

Oktoberfest!

This past weekend I organized a fundraising event at the Biergartenhaus on H Street for the Freemason Naval Lodge No. 4.

We had a great turn out!  $30 got you a free pilsner beer, your very own 20 oz. pint glass, discount beers and german snacks.  Many of the mason brothers came and brought their friends and significant others to the event and everyone had a great time.  We raised over $2000 and look forward to doing it again next year!

It was an easy and fun event- and the weather couldn't have been better!!
